INTEGRATIVE VISION
SEEHealth™
A New Approach to Eye and Whole Person Health
Did you know that your eyes can be a window to your overall health? In fact, conditions that affect your eyes and vision can often be connected to what is happening in the rest of your body. For example, vision changes can be linked to nutrient deficiencies or dry eyes may signal hormonal imbalances.
While your primary eyecare provider is vital for diagnosing and treating diseases and conditions that affect the eyes, Dr. Gioia recognized a need to take traditional eye health to the next level by figuring out and resolving the underlying factors that could contribute to your condition rather than just treating the symptoms. And, SEEHealth™ was born with the goal to help you move toward optimal eye health and overall well-being.
What is SEEHealth™?
SEEHealth™ is a whole-body wellness program designed by Dr. Neda Gioia to compliment your traditional eyecare treatments. Using each person’s unique history, advanced lab tests, and general lifestyle as a guide, the program focuses on identifying and mitigating the root cause(s) while proactively seeking to prevent future problems. Dr. Gioia does this by partnering with you to create a personalized action plan, which integrates diet and lifestyle changes along with other evidence-based protocols that lead to more effective and sustainable outcomes.
The SEEHealth™ Method
Advanced Functional Diagnostics
The program utilizes advanced functional diagnostic testing through lab, in-office, and/or at-home testing to provide a more detailed look at the underlying factors that may be contributing to your current state of health as well as detecting those that may lead to dysfunction or disease.
Personalized Nutrition and Lifestyle Plan
Our approach uses functional nutrition as a major form of intervention because chronic illnesses stem from a person’s diet. Your specific plan will be unique to you based on the outcomes of your assessment and diagnostics and may include recommendations of foods to add/avoid, supplementation, education, etc.

Answers to some common questions
Functional medicine is an evolution in healthcare that shifts the focus from disease-centered care (i.e., treating symptoms) to patient-centered care by addressing the whole person. Functional medicine providers use evidence-based protocols to identify and address the origin or root cause(s) of your symptoms and/or health condition, taking into consideration how things like your genetics, environment, and lifestyle can influence your health and well-being.
Functional nutrition is a pillar of functional medicine that focuses on identifying and addressing the underlying causes of symptoms or health conditions, such as nutrient imbalances, food intolerances or sensitivities, and improper diets, with nutrition-based solutions that are unique to your body and lifestyle and designed to help you resolve symptoms, not treat them, and restore balance.

Not at all. Dietary needs can vary significantly from one individual to the next, and what works for one person, even if they have the same issue, may not be the best approach for another. That is why it is crucial to know exactly what will help YOU to thrive. SEEHealth is tailored to meet your unique needs and to help ensure you are nourishing your body the right way to promote long-term health and wellness based on many factors, such as: medical history, current medications, exposure to toxins, emotional and physical stress, relationships/social connections, genetics, and spirituality.
Your health coach partners with you to help set and achieve your health goals. They will provide motivation and encouragement along with practical guidance and support, such as identifying strategies to overcome obstacles, throughout your SEEHealth journey. Recommendations will differ from person to person and are not covered in the program cost. However, in some cases, lab work may be covered by your insurance. We recommend you check with your provider prior to having tests done so you understand what is and is not covered.
Unfortunately, this program is not covered by insurance. In general, insurance companies are more focused on the conventional model of health care that too often relies on medications and surgery instead of wellness services. If you have an HSA (Health Savings Account), the consultations and prescribed supplements may be allowed. It is important to check with your insurance provider to confirm.
